Art Through the Eyes of Ages

Bethany Community Services applied for and was awarded a grant to present “Art Through the Eyes of Ages”, a multi-media art exhibit showcasing the artists of Bethany Communities located in Haverhill, MA. The project is designed to rejuvenate elder's passions for making art as well as offer the opportunity to tell their Hav

erhill life stories. This project is supported in part by a grant from the Haverhill Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Over the summer months, Bethany Communities will bring artists and art therapists to our resident facilities. They will provide art education classes using varying art materials and techniques to our geriatric population. A showcase exhibit is planned for October and will be open to the public.

“We are so thankful to the Haverhill Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council for contributing to the vitality of the community as a whole by providing intergenerational art activities between artists and senior citizens,” remarked Linda Maxwell, Resident Service Coordinator at Bethany Community Services. “This project would not be possible without their support.”
